COME TO LIFE : Natalie Imbruglia

Not be denied if you have a touch Lisa Loeb and if the vocal style Alanis Morissette then make Natalie Imbruglia reached popularity in the listener's ears. But now, should also be recognized, after twelve years ago since the single cover versions Torn make it popular, Australian songstress is back wearing another recipe to repeat the success in the late 90's the past.

For their fourth album, COME TO LIFE can be is an affirmation of the existence of Natalie Jane Imbruglia, just play the save.

Here's his theory, after the success of instant style LEFT OF THE MIDDLE, Then followed by musical-lyrical perfectionist, but not sold in White Lilies IslandAnd Counting Down The Days a commercial success, but instead as Alanis and Bjork who was singing here, so now is the right time for the former soap opera star is to return to repeat prescriptions early, if you want to succeed.

How? Natalie was no longer tocover songs Ednaswap, But he got 'jackpot'. More than cover versions (which at least still need re arranger), Nat 'received net' two tracks written by all personnel Coldplay, Ya all! Chris Martin, Will Champion, Jonny Buckland, And Guy Berryman.

Luke and Fun it is matter 'leftover' from the recording sessions VIVA LA VIDA. But of course not just any 'rest', because it is Brian Eno, Cold hands are also behind the success U2 who produced tracks 3 minutes 50 seconds, and Ken Nelson former producer Coldplay for the last track.

Furthermore, predictable and make sense if then the whole matter in COME TO LIFE 'tagging' single in the top 2. Although the opening singles were released just catchy electronic pop - but minor quality, Wild About It.

Next, it's not a coincidence that the Nat who had separated from her ex-husband, Daniel Johns (frontman Silverchair) Was also 'shifted his love' of the old-school influences Silverchair to the style of contemporary pop music Chris Martin et al. You are listening to previous albums Nat, Counting Down The Days certainly understand this correctly.

The good news, you'll find a variation and it will not get bored quickly to enjoy this album (at least while on the move). As well as electro-pop in Cameo that will make you think again if Britney Spears no longer rivals!

Overall, Natalie comeback its obvious. But for business to sell or honest in work, an album release since mid-October and it seemed too gray. Between musicality and markets, play save!
The width strains against the failing hate.

KELLY CLARKSON NEW ALBUM

Theme album All I Ever Wanted Kelly Clarkson's not much different from previous albums. Where the failure of love and perseverance of a woman was used as the main banner.
Although the first track, My Life Would Suck Without You contains heartbreak unpleasant, Kelly still presenting with characteristic. No tears, only the expression of irritation heartbreak.
This Texas girl's cooperation with several musicians began to look at the next next track. As in 'I Do not Hook Up' and 'Long shot', the color of the new singer Kate Perry are felt.
Rather flicked lyrics and beats to fast will make you think that's characteristic Perry unik.Tapi calm, not Kelly's name if you do not have a melancholy song. 'Cry' can be the soundtrack for you have just broken-hearted.
Texas girl's shriek to make every word in the poem and menohok songs guaranteed to make you think mate. On the last track, If No One Will Listen, Kelly was surprised by trying to play in low tones.
High voice that sounded so new trademark on the reff end of the song. The rest? You would be amazed if it's American Idol 1 winner was fluent also played in a low voice.
As a whole did not change compared to the three previous albums. Only the main strength of this new album is the typical strengthening Kelly as a rocker girl. You are guaranteed Kelly lovers will not be disappointed with All I Ever Wanted.

THE 1980's MUSIC TASTE

The 80’s were a big time for pop music, introducing international stars like Madonna, Whitney Houston, Prince, Cher, Tina Turner, and the king of pop himself, Michael Jackson. The 1980’s were a great time of technological advancements – from the invention of Compact Discs (CD’s) and cassette players, to the advances made in the music video industry. Pop artists like Madonna and Michael Jackson knew how to work the industry and turn it into big business. Many pop artists used their music videos to gain their popularity. Their clothing became trends (Madonna’s fishnet stockings and bleach blonde hair, Michael Jackson’s single glove and wide array of jackets), their moves legendary, and their songs climbed to the top of the charts.

The 80’s were also a big developmental time for a new brand of rock, aptly named Hard Rock, or Heavy Metal. Pop made a big debut in the 80’s, but Heavy Metal dominated the decade with legendary bands like Iron Maiden, Van Halen, Guns n’ Roses, Aerosmith, and AC/DC. Fans of metal (often referred to as Metalheads, or Headbangers), packed concerts to experience harsh distortion, loud drums, dense bass, and the screaming vigorous vocals of the band’s front runner.
By the mid 1980’s, Hip Hop and Rap artists were starting to make their mark in the industry. Artists like Grandmaster Flash, and Kurtis Blow were introducing the masses to a new style of beats, lyrics, and dance moves. By the late 1980’s, the MTV music television program were jumping on board. “Yo! MTV Raps,” was a two hour show dedicated to showcasing hip hop and rap music videos.
Pop, Metal, and Hip Hop were the big players in the 80’s, but they weren’t alone. Hard Rock, or Heavy Metal spawned a wide variety of spin off music genres. Thrash Metal bands like Metallica and Megadeath were a reaction to the poppier ‘hair metal bands’ of the 80’s. Hardcore Punk bands were operating underground, spreading aggressive metal-influenced punk rock with a political and social awareness in their lyrics. And as a reaction to all of the mainstream rock trends, Alternative Rock (Alt-rock) bands like R.E.M, the Pixies, They Might Be Giants, and The Cure were making their stand in the music world.
The 80’s were a powerful decade in music history, bearing witness to the official end of the Disco era in 1981, and the influence music can have in a humanitarian world (Live Aid, 1985). The so called “Greedy Decade” gave back to the world with artists and music trends that would flourish well into the 1990’s and 2000’s.

POP MUSIC

Pop music is a liberal and vague category of modern music not marked by artistic considerations but by its promising audience or future market. Pop is music composed with calculated objective to influence the majority of its contemporaries.

In contrast to music that calls for education or arrangement to appreciate, a significant characteristic of pop music is that anyone is able to enjoy it. Artistic concepts such as complex musical form and aesthetics are not a matter in the writing of pop songs, the key aim being audience satisfaction and commercial triumph. Although the aim of pop music is to sell records and do really well in the charts, it does not require wide acclaim or commercial success. There are bad or unsuccessful pop songs.

Originally the term was an abbreviation of, and synonymous to, popular music, but developed around 1954 to express a particular musical category. The stylistic origins of pop music is folk, jazz,R&B,rock and roll, traditional pop music. The typical instruments are electric guitar, bass guitar, drum kit and keyboard. The cultural origins date back to 1950's in the United States. It is popular worldwide since 1960s.

The standard format of pop music is the song, usually less than five minutes in length. The instrumentation can range from an orchestra to a lone singer. In spite of this wide choice, a standard lineup in a pop band includes a lead guitarist, a bassist, a drummer (or an electronic drum machine), a keyboardist and one or more singers, generally not themselves instumentalists.

Pop songs are generally conspicuous by a heavy rhythmic element, a mainstream style and traditional structure. The most common modification is strophic in form and focuses on memorable melodies, catchy hooks and the appeal of the verse-chorus-verse arrangement, with the chorus sharply contrasting the verse melodically, rhythmically and harmonically.

Lyrics in pop compositions are usually simple and speak of universal experiences and feelings, moving away from incomprehensible or debatable issues. The international appeal of pop was evident in the new millennium, with artists from around the world influencing the genre and local variants merging with the mainstream. As of 2008, pop music is now currently the most popular style of music of youth culture, making competition with hip hop, dance and country.

White Lion

White Lion was a Hard Rock band of the 1980's and early 1990's. Their manager Mike Parente, also owned L’amour, a club in Brooklyn. The band was formed in New York City in 1983 by Danish-born vocalist Mike Tramp (original name Michael Trampenau) and guitarist Vito Bratta who wrote most of the band`s songs. The bands members were: James Lomenzo, Greg D’Angelo, Mike Tramp, Vito Bratta.

White Lion was signed by Elektra records in 1983 and recorded their debut Fight To Survive. However, Elektra was unhappy with the final recording, and after refusing to release the album, terminated their contract.

The album Fight To Survive was eventually picked up by RCA and released in Japan in 1984. The small US independent label Grand Slamm records finally released Fight To Survive in the US on November 9, 1985. A few months later, Grand Slam records went bankrupt.

In early 1986, White Lion, with a fictitious “female” member, had a brief part in the Tom Hanks/Shelley Long movie The Money Pit.

The following year Atlantic released their second album Pride which brought success for them. Especially the single Wait which climbed to 8th place in the U.S. chart & real metal music listeners liked it too surprisingly. When the Children Cry was a bigger hit. It reached 3rd place. Atlantic released Fight to Survive worldwide too. The guys toured with the bands Frehley`s Comet, Kiss, AC/DC & Stryper.

In 1989 their next CD Big Game came out. That was a more successful album and it set up their place in the hard rock bands’ top-flight. Mike Tramp called their music “rock`n`roar”. That recording’s hit single was Radar Love, a classic originally recorded by Golden Earring.

1991 was the year when they made their best CD Mane attraction, according to Greg D`Angelo. It contained chart tune Lights & Thunder and a new version of their first album’s song Broken Heart.

In 1992 Greg D`Angelo & James Lomenzo had enough of Tramp`s continuous fighting with Bratta so they left the band. New members were bassist Tommy T. Bone Caradonna & drummer Jimmy De Grasso. Soon, in the autumn of the same year the band disbanded.

Greg & James have played in different groups after White Lion. Vito Bratta concentrated on classic guitar playing. Soon after disbanding Mike had a new band called Freak Of Nature with his Danish friend Oliver Steffanson. They made a few songs together and the demos with the band. Then Tramp & Steffanson had a fight when Staffanson went back to Denmark. The band recorded 2 albums during the years 1993-94. Later in year 1998 all their demos released too.

In year 1998 Mike made his first solo album Capricorn.

After 4 solo albums Mike formed Tramp’s White Lionin the year 2005 with young new musicians, with “Tramp’s” as part of the name to show it was only him from the original band. They recorded live album “Rockin’ the USA” and a studio album is planned as well.

Older White Lion`s demos were also released in the 2000`s as bonus tracks on their remastered albums and in one collection.

The Journey of SADE

With her exotic beauty and steamy voice, Sade couldn't help but be a star. Taking the more sensuous elements of island beats, smooth jazz, and R&B, Sade scored major hits with the continental feel of "Smooth Operator" and the sultry stylization of "Your Love Is King." Her voice was often criticized for being thin, yet she made it work to her advantage with songs like the haunting "Jezebel," on which her delivery added the vulnerability necessary to the song. Sade sounded best when she stuck to the lower register, and there is nothing thin about her dynamic handling of her torch song "Is It a Crime." "The Sweetest Taboo" was one of her last great moments before years of mediocrity, chronicled here by the lifeless "Stronger Than Pride" and the limp "Nothing Can Come Between Us." "No Ordinary Love" was a return to form with the smoky richness back in her vocals and the urban/island feel of her first release. Best of Sade goes right up to her hit "Pearls," which, remixed, became a dance floor hit. The nicest surprise here is "Please Send Me Someone to Love," with Sade proving that although her range may be limited vocally, she doesn't suffer the same fate artistically.

When Sade first came on the recording scene in the '80s, her record company, Epic, made a point of printing "pronounced shar-day" after her name on the record labels of her releases. Soon enough the world would have no problem in correctly pronouncing her name. Born Helen Folasade Adu in Ibadan, Nigeria, she was the daughter of an African father and an English mother.
After her mother returned to England, Sade grew up on the North End of London.

Developing a good singing voice in her teens, Sade worked part-time jobs in and outside of the music business. She listened to Ray Charles, Nina Simone, Al Green, Aretha Franklin, and Billie Holliday. Sade studied fashion design at St. Martin's School of Art in London while also doing some modeling on the side.

Around 1980, she started singing harmony with a Latin funk group called Arriva. One of the more popular numbers that the group would perform was a Sade original co-written with bandmember Ray St. John, "Smooth Operator," that would later become Sade's first stateside hit. The following year she joined the eight-piece funk band Pride as a background singer. The band included future Sade band members guitarist/saxophonist Stuart Matthewman (a key player in '90s urban soul singer Maxwell's success) and bassist Paul Denman. The concept of the group was that there could shoot-offs. In essence, a few members within the main group Pride formed mini-groups that would be the opening act. Pride did a lot of shows around London, stirring up record company interest. Initially, the labels wanted to only sign Sade, while the group members wanted a deal for the whole band. After a year, the other band members told Sade, Matthewman, and Denman to go ahead and sign a deal. Adding keyboardist Andrew Hale, the group signed to the U.K. division of Epic Records.

Her debut album, Diamond Life (with overall production by Robin Millar), went Top Ten in the U.K. in late 1984. January 1985 saw the album released on CBS' Portrait label and by spring it went platinum off the strength of the Top Ten singles "Smooth Operator" and "Hang on to Your Love." Her second album, Promise (November 1985), featured "Never As Good As the First Time" and arguably her signature song, "The Sweetest Taboo," which stayed on the U.S. pop charts for six months. Sade was so popular that some radio stations reinstated the '70s practice of playing album tracks, adding "Is It a Crime" and "Tar Baby" to their play lists. In 1986, Sade won a Grammy for Best New Artist.

Sade's third album was 1988's Stronger Than Pride and featured her first number one soul single "Paradise," "Nothing Can Come Between Us," and "Keep Looking." A new Sade album didn't appear for four years. 1992's Love Deluxe continued the unbroken streak of multi-platinum Sade albums, spinning off the hits "No Ordinary Love," "Feel No Pain," and "Pearls." While the album's producer Mike Pela, Matthewman, Denman, and Hale have gone on to other projects. The new millennium did spark a new scene for Sade. She issued Lovers Rock in fall 2000 and incoporated more mainstream elements than ever before. Debut single "By Your Side" was also a hit among radio and adult-contemporary listerners. The following summer, Sade embarked on her first tour in more than a decade, selling out countless dates across America. In early 2002, she celebrated the success of the tour by releasing her first ever live album and DVD, Lovers Live. ~ Ed Hogan, All Music Guides.
